Project Site

The activities were carried out at Namulonge Research Institute (NAARI) and Kachwekano Agricultural Research and Development Centre (ARDC); and the two districts of Bushenyi and the two districts of Bushenyi and Kisoro.  In each district two sub counties were selected by the stakeholders in a participatory manner.  For each sub-county two parishes were selected at the beginning (2003B).  A third parish was added in the third season (i.e. 2004A).

 

NAARI and Kachwekano ARDC focused on on-station multiplication of bean root rot resistant varieties.  At NAARI the focus was on bush beans while Kachwekano focused on climbers.  The rest of the activities were on on-farm in the sub counties given.
