Researchers at the Chitedze Research
Station in Malawi in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture have
released three improved maize varieties CZR 3, CZR 4 and CZR 8. These
new varieties were a product of research funded by the Rockefeller
Foundation. The varieties are resistant to gray leaf spot and
turcicum leaf blightdiseases, and also high yielding.
