Rockefeller Travel Grants for the Plant and Animal Genome Meeting: Application Guidelines

The organizers of the PAG XV through the University of Georgia, USA, anticipate, pending availability of funds, to give out 4 or 5 travel grants to attend the Plant and Animal Genome Meeting XV, which will take place January 13 – 17 2006 in San Diego, USA. The travel grants are funded by The Rockefeller Foundation and we encourage applications from students and researchers in Developing Countries, particularly Africa, with an interest in Genome Research.   The amounts awarded will vary, but are unlikely to cover all costs.  Applicants are therefore strongly encouraged to obtain matching funds from their home institution or from other organizations to cover part of the costs associated with attending the PAG meeting.  Further information on the PAG meeting can be found at http://www.intl-pag.org/

To apply, please e-mail your CV, a description of the funds requested, and a 1 page statement describing your research and the anticipated benefits of attending the PAG XV meeting, to Dr. Katrien M. Devos, University of Georgia, Athens, USA (kdevos@uga.edu).  The application deadline is September 10th 2006. Candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application by September 27th.  Successful candidates will be required to actively participate in the meeting through an oral or poster presentation.  Successful candidates are responsible for obtaining a valid VISA to enter the USA.

Other travel grant opportunities

A number of other travel grants to participants planning to attend PAG XV Conference are available. Applicants must apply by 06 October 2006. For more information, visit http://www.intl-pag.org/15/15-grants.html.
