About the
meeting
This is an
interactive forum for PASS maize breeders and will build up on
activities initiated in the previous two network meetings.
More information on previous forums can be accessed from the
already existing website -
www.africancrops.net.
Objective
To
facilitate maize breeders to exchange their researches results
and establish a forward plan on the best way to take advantage
of the Breeders and Crop Variety Databases that PASS is
developing.
Expected
outcomes
-
To
increase in farmers’ productivity through the development of
additional new maize varieties
-
Enhance
and produce a result-oriented networking, create strong
partnerships through information exchange and shared
experiences between public breeders and private seed
merchants.
Expected
impact
Contribute
to a sustainable system for product delivery to farmers and
realization of a green revolution in Africa
Travel
information
Visa.
All visitors to Kenya are required to have a valid visa.
Arrival:
Wednesday, August 1, 2007
Departure:
Saturday, August 4, 2007.
Accommodation.
The Stanley
Hotel in Nairobi. ProGRA will cover the cost of travel, room
and board expenses for the duration of the meeting.
Participants will receive a moderate allowance to cover your
dinner and incidental expenses. Original receipts must be
submitted for any meeting-related claims.
Insurance.
Participants are not covered under any travel, medical, or
other insurance carried by ProGRA.
