THE SECOND REGIONAL NEMATOLOGY TRAINING COURSE Dates: 16 July – 5 August 2007 The Nematology Initiative for Eastern and Southern Africa in collaboration with the Gatsby Charitable Foundation is offering a three week intensive course in identification, biology and management of plant-parasitic nematodes of agricultural significance in the region. Practical sessions in the laboratory and field trips will complement lectures. The course is intended for tertiary level students of plant-parasitic nematodes, and professionals such as research and extension officers, advanced technical staff, commercial advisors, and providers of diagnostic services. Minimum academic preparation for acceptance is a B.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in biological or agricultural sciences. Applicants with secondary school level of education coupled with extensive experience in the field of crop protection may be considered. VENUE: Kenya Forestry Research Institute Training Centre (KEFRI) Nairobi, Kenya COSTS: Accomodation & Food: Single and double rooms are available with options of bed and breakfast, half board or full board.
