General Meeting of Collaborators of AGRA's Program for Africa’s Seed Systems (PASS)

"The March Towards a Green Revolution in Africa - Improving the Lives of Farmers through Stronger Seed Systems"

Objectives of the Meeting

  1. To document and evaluate the progress of AGRA/PASS grantees working throughout the African continent

  2. To bring together people working on different parts of the value chain so that they are able to complete the chain in a way that effectively serves the needs of African farmers.

Submission of Abstracts

All participants are expected to give oral and/or poster presentations based on the results of the their AGRA-funded work. Participants should submit their abstracts not later than August 10, 2009. The abstracts should be one page and sent as an email attachment to seeds@agra-allaince.org. A meeting agenda will be distributed to all participants a month prior to the meeting. The book of abstracts will be available at the meeting.

Travel and accommodation

Grantees are expected to charge air travel to their existing grants. Only participants without travel grants and AGRA-supported students can request for support through email to Mulemia Maina: seeds@agra-alliance.org. Accommodation and subsistence in Bamako will be covered by organizers for the duration of the meeting, for AGRA grantees only.

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING ABSTRACTS

 Please follow the guidelines below when preparing your abstract:

  • One page abstract with maximum of 350 words on Microsoft Word Document

  • Times New Roman font type.

  • Strictly Font size 12 with single spacing

  • Submitting author should be the first author

  • All measurements should be given in metric (SI) units.

  • The abstract must state research objective and methods, main results and conclusions.

  • Finally, you must read, spell check and edit your abstracts before submitting.
